Sakura(cherry blossoms)
"Why Japanese people like sakura?", said an Australian whom I mentioned in "My circumstance". Now here in Tohoku, we can see many beautiful sakura. And we, most Japanese, like to go seeing sakura or to have a hanami party under them. But why sakura? Isn't good if we have it under another trees? Ohanami(お花見)means to see flowers to the letters. But it reffers the flower must be sakura.
Sakura have different beauty from other trees. The blossoms, the color, the season it blooms, and the term as well. They don't show their leaves while they're in bloom. So we can enjoy their beautiful pink. I like to see the ground covered with the blooms fallen from that branch. It's a carpet of flowers. Yeah, it's true that the best time of sakura is really short in a year. So people are pleased all the more. And in my opinion, the time sakura blooms let us feel spring and the end of winter. Getting warm and comfortable to go out. To add to that, in Japan, it's the season to say good-bye and also to meet new people or things.

Ishiwarizakura

This sakura comes out from the crack of rock. I've heard, long long time ago, the lightning hit the rock and the seed came in the crack. It is very old tree so many posts carry it now.

I quite like the carpet of sakura blossoms on the ground too. There is a mountain (well, I think it's just a big hill) here in Ichinoseki and I went up for hanami, but it was too cold! I had one small cup of ume-shu and then went home. Ah well. It's really warm now, isn't it! Time to open the windows and air out the apartment!
I went to many places to see Sakura this season. But I didn't go to Ichinoseki:( I missed the best time because cold days continued.
Ume-shu...I love it. Whenever I go to izakaya I don't forget to order it!
