swans Posted by Picasa

I took these pictures near my town. I visited there after a long separation. This pond is not big and nice. Even though, somehow, every year the swans visit here.

I didn't bring any food then. But they thought I would feed them something. They know people give them food. Sorry.

You'd think there would be a bread stall nearby for that very purpose. By the way, in reference to the earlier comment about snow tires, in Canada most people I know use all-weather tires, and we're just accustomed to driving in the snow ... I've been having a fun time with my bicycle on the slippery sidewalks though! I'm afraid to go on the road on my bicycle in Japan, I always expect death.

You scare me. I do tell you. In winter, when I'm driving a car, I don't like those people who're riding their bicycle...and they scare me...

I'll agree that bicycles and cars on the road at the same time in this weather is a bad idea. But I stay on the sidewalk unless I'm in a hurry or the sidewalk is so icy that I'm forced to go on the road. But I live right next to a grocery store so I don't go very far on my bike. So no need to worry!
