conducting

Our brass band club had a concert this weekend. Actually I used to be a trombone player. But I joined that as a percussion player(sounds strange. Because I haven't used this word.Is it correct, I wonder?) When the concert passed the half of it, there was a small happening to me. I was standing on the stage behind the curtain then. I was going to join their, you know, as a percussion player again(It's tambourine. It's fun.). But they called me and told me to join as a conducter. I have conducted during their practicing and I also conducted on the eve of their practicing on that day. But I hadn't seen the scores they played, and hadn't memorized those yet. Anyway, somehow I did, even though I wasn't satisfided with my work.
I experienced a conducter of the club I belonged when I was a high school student. To conduct is interesting and looks nice. But actually it's really hard. We have to listen carefully to each part sounds and balance. If I talk about this, it would be long. So I won't. Anyway, this time, I did for the first time in for five years(maybe). So my right sholder hurts a little bit now. You'll know, to conduct for some tunes is hard for physical. Anyway I enjoyed a lot with them.

Huh. I never thought conducting was especially difficult but now that I think of it, it must be really tiring to wave your arms around at the right times.
